Illumitex Makes an Impact at CannaCon Seattle 2016
Illumitex made a lasting appearance at this year’s CannaCon 2016 trade show, held on February 18-20 in Seattle, Washington. With over 13,171 people in attendance, CannaCon was a successful show for the industry. CannaCon hosted more than 200 exhibitors including cannabis companies, grow light companies, consulting and legal firms, etc.
Five Illumitex LED grow light fixtures were displayed at booth 616 with our newest product, the Power Harvest W-Series as the centerpiece. The Illumitex team was in full force, consisting of: Director of Research and Development Rebecca Knight, Marketing Specialist Jairus Popp, Horticulture Sales Manager Dennis Riling and Sales Manager Tim Shaffer, answering many questions about LED grow lights and how to utilize them.
“It was awesome to talk to interested customers and hear them express excitement about our products,” said Popp.
Director of Research and Development Rebecca Knight, PhD, presented her speech, “Harnessing Light: A Plant’s Perspective” on Friday, February 19. The conference room was packed with people interested in learning the science behind cannabis plants. Dr. Knight broke up the presentation into three sections and answered questions before starting the following section. At the end of her forty-minute speech, the room exploded in applause.
“I thought it went really well! Many people who came to our booth were in the audience, so I saw a lot of friendly faces. There were a lot of people who wanted to talk to me afterwards and formed a line,” said Dr. Knight.
At the beginning of CannaCon, Illumitex launched an Instagram selfie contest #PurpleHazeATX, rewarding the best selfie with a NeoSol LS LED Light. Popp helped spread the word about the contest by handing out flyers at the booth.
“There were a lot of interesting selfies submitted, but I was happy to see that Elena won the contest. She is a new grower and really wanted to win the NeoSol LED grow light,” said Popp.
