Manufacturing Quality Engineer
Position Overview

Illumitex is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer.  The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will interface with R&D/Engineering, Suppliers and Production teams on a regular basis in terms of existing products and manufacturing as well as new product introductions. This is a critical role requiring attention to detail and conscientious focus that will report to the VP of Facilities and Manufacturing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

Coordinate between engineering and production for the effective and efficient manufacturing of our products.
Develops, evaluates, and works with senior staff to improve manufacturing methods.
Analyzes and assists in planning of work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow; designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Interpret, implement and evaluate quality assurance standards and inspection systems.
Collect, report and analyze statistical quality data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system.
Approve incoming materials, in-process and finished production items by confirming specifications are met.
Administrate the Materials Review Board (MRB) which is responsible for identifying unacceptable materials and products, communicating required adjustments as needed.
Oversee the RMA function which manages return products for re-work, inspect and confirm when re-work is complete.
Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data.
Applies statistical methods to estimates future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Establishes and maintains Lean practices, including continuous improvement projects.
Writes, develops and implements validation procedures.


Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field
4+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, to include quality inspection/auditing/testing, ETL knowledge preferred
Prior experience with the implementation of corrective action programs
Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of Quality Assurance as applied to manufacturing
Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
Strong communication, presentation, organizational and leadership skills
Effective conflict resolution and time management skills, while being adaptable in dealing with change, delays or unexpected events
Ability to perform effectively in high pressure situations required with a large degree of autonomy and initiative and with multiple team dynamics
Must be task/detail-oriented, able to perform data entry using standard Microsoft office applications and an ERP/MRP system
Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.


Manufacturing Fixture Assembler


We are seeking candidates who take pride in their work product. Candidates should have a stable job history and work experience that has required manual dexterity, strong problem-solving skills, and attention to the smallest detail. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Physical duties include standing, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs with flexible hand motion — VERY physically demanding job! High school diploma/GED and criminal background check required.Semiconductor/electronics experience preferred; training will be provided to candidates who meet the stated requirements.

  • Pay range: $10-11/per hour
  • Schedule: 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday
